How To Join

If you are eligible to join BCTFCU, call, E-mail, or visit our office and our staff will provide you with the necessary forms. There is a one-time fee of $.25 (Twenty-Five Cents) per member to join BCTFCU with a minimum deposit requirement of $5.00.

Membership is accepted through Board approval on the third Thursday of each month. Applications for membership must be received two business days prior to the meeting to be considered for approval for the month. Currently, the following membership options are available:

Ř   Single Party Account - As a Single Party Account Holder you would have exclusive access and control over your account. No other party would have any access to the account for any business or information and the account would revert to the estate in the event of death.

Ř   Single Party Account with Joint Owner Right of Survivorship - Simply put, a second party on the account (i.e. Spouse, child, parent, etc.) who is not a member of the Credit Union, would be able to transact any business for this account that did not involve acquiring loans (i.e. withdrawals, deposits, balance inquiries, pin changes, etc.). On the death of either party, any money in the account would be the property of the Joint Owner after any loans are satisfied.

Ř   Two Member Account - The second party on this account would also be a member of the Credit Union. Both members would be eligible to transact any business on the account, including the acquiring of loans. In the event of death of either party, the account would pass to the other party. In the event either party desires to close the account, both parties’ signatures will be required.

Ř Trust Account - The Credit Union offers two (2) types of trust accounts; the Totten Trust and the Revocable Living Trust. Please contact the office for more information regarding opening a Trust Account.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you:

When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.  We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
