About Us

The Butler Co Teachers Federal Credit Union (BCTFCU) was organized in February 1939 for the employees of the school districts of Butler County.  In February 1969, the bylaws were amended to include the employees of the Butler County Community College, and in 1991, some of the Catholic Schools of Butler County were included.  The above constitutes the field of membership schools. If your school is not yet included in our Field of Membership but you would like it to be, please contact BCTFCU.

Due to the loyalty of our membership, the Butler Co Teachers Federal Credit Union has grown to a financial institution of over 17 million dollars with over 2,300 members.

At the annual meeting, the third Thursday of each January, the members elect directors to transact business for BCTFCU.   Each member has one vote.  A credit committee, which is also elected at the annual meeting, judges the loan applications and the members’ ability to repay the loan on the basis of information submitted and credit reports.

The board of directors meets monthly to transact credit union business while the credit committee meets at least once a week to vote on loan applications. Internal audits are conducted annually by the supervisory committee and periodically by a Federal Examiner.

The Butler Co Teachers Federal Credit Union does not have an encrypted e-mail system.  Please do not use e-mail to transmit sensitive personal information such as account or social security numbers.
