Fraud Protection

The Butler Co. Teachers Federal Credit Union will never call, e-mail, or fax a member asking for personal information such as an account number or social security number. It has come to our attention that some of our members have received an e-mail advising them that the "Credit Union" has limited their account access due to a lack of information on file.  They are then advised to access a web link, provide the necessary information, and their account will be restored. If you receive any messages asking for confirmation of account or personal information, weather by phone, e-mail or some other means, DO NOT give out the requested information. Contact the Credit Union to verify if the request is actually from our office. Fraudulent requests for personal information should be reported immediately to law enforcement for investigation.

Use of E-mail

The Credit Union uses an unsecured e-mail address for general correspondence with its members. Since our Credit Union is a federal institution, we are protected under federal law against criminal activity. This allows you to report any suspicious activity to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  The FBI's web link is www.ic3.gov.
