The Butler County Teachers Federal Credit Union will never call, e-mail, or fax a member asking for personal information such as an account number or Social Security number. If you receive any messages asking for confirmation of account or personal information, whether by phone, e-mail or some other means, DO NOT give out the requested information. Contact the Credit Union to verify that the request is actually from our office. Fraudulent requests for personal information should be reported immediately to law enforcement for investigation.
In addition, the Credit Union uses an un-encrypted e-mail address for general correspondence with its members. Please DO NOT include any specific account information in e-mail correspondence with our office such as account number or Social Security number. To protect yourself from identity theft, you should never send account numbers or social security numbers through e-mail. For your protection, our staff is not permitted to send account balances, payoff information, or other account-specific information via e-mail. In addition,check and/or loan requests should not be made via e-mail; our staff will contact you immediately if a request of this nature is received.
